2010-11 CU Stands Up Week - iCUSU Campaigns Against Fee Rises

CU Stands Up is a week of events and activities to celebrate and explore diversity in the Cambridge community and beyond. As part of this year's CU Stands Up, iCUSU will be representing you in a campaign against fee rises for all current and prospective international students starting in 2011/12. We will be facing a re-banding of fees categories, with a significant across the board increase in all fees and an effective 100% increase for pre-clinical Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. Detailed fee structure here.

We will also be campaigning against any subsequent increases and requesting the consultation of the student body in deciding such changes.

In a recent open meeting, iCUSU passed a resolution in favour of campaigning against the university to reverse their decision over the fee increases, and to guarantee consultation of the student body in the event of future fee adjustments. The motion is currently being presented to CUSU Council on Monday 15th Nov 2010.

We will be setting up a booth at Sidgwick Site and New Museum Site from 12pm to 2pm on Tuesday 16th Nov 2010. There will be a petition to the Vice-Chancellor to effect change and voice our concerns. Please join us in this historical campaign and lend us your support!
